The building was designed in 1966 and commissioned in 1969. The lower part of the building was rebuilt several times after Latvia regained its independence. The current redevelopment has holistically modernised the site into a Class A office and commercial building with a flexible layout and contemporary amenities. Everything from the building frame and utilities to the façade insulation and finishes have been "audited". At the same time, the spirit of the original modernist design has been retained, with clearly articulated volumes, extensive glazing and the characteristic dynamic rooftop.
